Terms of Service
Last updated 23 October 2026
System Design Live (“SDL”, “we”) is an online platform for practising system design in live, hosted workspaces. It is operated by an individual based in India. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use SDL.
1. Your account
You sign in with Google. You are responsible for activity on your account and must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. One person per account; do not share it or create accounts to get around plan limits.
2. Plans and payment
- Every plan includes every challenge. The Free plan includes a daily allowance of workspace hours; Pro includes a larger daily allowance. Current limits and prices are on the pricing page.
- Pro is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
- Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
3. Workspaces and acceptable use
Each challenge gives you temporary compute that we host. Workspaces stop automatically after a time limit and their contents are not kept. You agree not to:
- use workspaces for anything other than the challenge, including mining, scanning, or attacking other systems;
- try to break out of your workspace, reach other users’ workspaces, or disrupt the platform;
- resell access or automate the site in a way that places unreasonable load on it;
- upload anything unlawful or that you do not have the right to use.
We may stop a workspace, suspend, or close an account that breaks these rules. Where that happens to a paid account for a clear breach, no refund is due.
4. Content
Challenges, editorials, and the rest of the site are ours or our licensors’. You may use them for your own learning; do not republish them. Code you write in a workspace is yours.
5. Availability and changes
SDL is provided “as is”. We work to keep it running but do not promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or retire features or challenges. If we change these terms materially we will update the date above and, for paid users, tell you by email before the change applies.
6. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
7. Ending
You can stop using SDL and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end these terms if you breach them. Sections 4 and 6 survive.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections where you live.
